….I caught a smallmouth yellowfish on fly and hooked it onto a rod while John was send to collect firewood. Me and David agreed to ask him to watch the rods while I hid away in the reeds next to the rods and David acted as if he knew nothing. I tightened the drag and told him if anything happens to my rod he will pay. As soon as the yellow got some energy back he did what was expected of him...and Johnny copied the fish eagles..

Indigenous cooking For brunch David made us a biltong and droee wors omelette. It sound as if it’s a dry or tough ingredient to use in a omelette or with scramble eggs but belief me it Is superb and truly South African. The biltong was not too dry and the droee wors as well. All were slowly fried on the fire, dished out while the beaten egg was slowly done in the pan. When the eggs were ready the fried ingredients were served on top of the eggs on a slice of toast roasted on the fire. A bit of grated Parmegiano regiano topped the meal. ( the real deal parmesan cheese)
As we took loads of fresh herbs with for the week we had loads of fresh greens with every meal even on the Last days. This meal consisted of fried onions, green pepper, garlic, flavoured sea salt, coriander, rosemary, pepper and sundried tomato and chilly paste in thyme and olive oil that was made at

End of episode 1
I return from the Kgalagadi Transfrontier to the river camp late and when I woke up the chaps were onto the cats again before the coffee water was boiling. We catch some yellowfish on fly rods and I drove to the Augrabies falls a few km’s away to cook a “waterblommetjie” and game sausage “potjie”.
